Lufkin Education Foundation awards 25 grants worth over $58,000.00

The Foundation spent the morning on August 28th handing out $58,000.00 to 11 schools across the district. The Foundation handed out a total of 25 STEM, physical education, and social skills grants making it the Foundation's favorite day of the year!

This years Grant Patrol started at Lufkin High School with a team of teachers receiving a grant for $5,000.00 to bring the Spark: Igniting and Engineering Spirit to students. This is an innovative technology trunk that will travel from kindergarten to high school as teachers check it out. The day ended at Anderson Elementary where teachers there received 5 innovative teacher grants!
